For Ramsie Shick, art is a vehicle to connect with the Creator, a passion that breathes through her for survival in this temporary place. Convicted by truth and feeling severely in debt to the one who made her, she makes art because that is who she is, not as some form of entertainment.

Live performances by Ramsie prove to be spell binding and intense as the audience witnesses and joins this psalmist in her encounter with God. Ramsie was born in Cherry Point, North Carolina on August 17, 1971. Her Father, Harry Shick, a Princeton graduate, was in the military at the time. Suzanne Shick, Ramsie's mother began to play guitar while Ramsie was in the womb and the home was usually filled with the sounds of Joni Mitchell and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, or some other music of the cultural revolution. Two years later Salvation visited the Shick family and Harry and Suzanne were called into the ministry. Ramsie asked Jesus into her heart when she was 4 years old. Ramsie's life was now that of a preacher's kid since her parents moved to California to work with Campus Crusade for Christ and continued seminary training. God used Harry and Suzanne to plant churches in San Bernardino and often Ramsie was right there with them ministering in prisons and churches. When Ramsie was 12 years old her family moved to the Philadelphia area and Ramsie began to play guitar. As a young teenager she spent most of her time in her room listening to the radio, playing guitar and making art. Growing up in the ministry is a unique lifestyle and Ramsie saw as she puts it "inconsistencies". At 17 years old Ramsie put her Bible down and began the life of the "Prodigal". After 12 years of Christian schools and ministry life, Ramsie went to New York University and found out that the "Big Apple" indeed does have a worm at the core. She struggled with a life of drinking, drugs and the art-world and then went back home to New Jersey. After a good taste of the fast lane, Ramsie made a personal commitment to Christ. This time Ramsie knew what the world had to offer and what God has to offer. Since her coming home to The Father, Ramsie has been dedicated to the discipline of home church accountability, bible study, and inner healing. After surrendering her life back to God, Ramsie studied art at Hussian School of Art in Philadelphia. Ramsie now lives in Dallas, Texas and is part of a community of artists who fellowship and support each other in their gifts and callings to give God glory through the arts. Because she has seen both sides of "the fence" she is a perfect ambassador to young people who still think that there is love or adventure to be found in sin. Influenced by a diverse blend of music styles and artists, Ramsie grew up listening to Keith Green and Lamb, later soaked up everything on radio from Grateful Dead to Amy Grant and now enjoys and admires artist such as Shawn Colvin, Peter Gabriel and Flaming Lips . Deep at the core of Ramsie's musical soul is Scottish and Irish influence coming from music festivals in the northeast.

"When you listen to her, Ramsie Shick commands you to enter the presence of God, she evokes a hunger for God making music more than a song, it is a road to glory. To be present and witness heaven pour through Ramsie the first time she sings a new song, is an opportunity I am greatly thankful for." - Russell David Hobbs

ARTIST VISION:
To represent God
through original music and paintings with multimedia live performance and reach people in the church and in the world. Ramsie sings about the different ways God brings freedom to those in bondage and of the tangible freedom of the soul that is everlasting. Whether at churches, festivals, clubs or coffee houses, this band is committed to raw inspiration, passionately expressing the truth of God's love through music and being humble people that the world can relate to. Their desire is to reach "The Music Generation" in their own arena. Ramsie and her band believe that music and art are gifts from God and are very effective tools to reach people with the truth of eternity. In concert her songs unfold as portions of her life diary and become a perfect setting to share the gospel and words of encouragement with the audience.

FAVORITE SCRIPTS:
Isaiah 61: 1-3: The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified. Jude 1:22-24: And of some have compassion, making a difference: and others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy.
