A rare gem, Kasey Curtis has it all; amazing vocalist, original songwriter and a rocking live show. In an age where synthetic pop/rock seeps through the crack in the elevator, this girl plays her own songs on her own guitar, and sings her guts out with her slammin' band. And she's really good.
Kasey Curtis was born and raised in Ojai, CA. Destiny took her to Texas when she was 19 where she attended college for two years.
Kasey has always loved music and written songs throughout her life and desired to ultimately be involved in music full time but she laid down the pursuit of music during her time in college. She had considered other career options and was in the process of deciding to become a music teacher instead of a performer.
However, during her first semester of music school at the University of North Texas, the desire to write songs and play became so great that she knew music was what she was made to do. She discontinued her studies in order to focus on writing but it wasn't so much that she was finding songs as much as songs were finding her.
In 1999 her first independent album entitled "The Deep End" was completed and released to a growing fan base in Dallas, TX. Kasey and her band enjoyed the next two years of playing in and around Texas at coffeehouses, churches, clubs and festivals.
In the summer of 2001 Kasey moved to Nashville, Tennessee, the hub of roots music, knowing it was time to be where the action is. Throwing herself completely into music full time, she met a new producer and the phenomenal new recordings release on Crucible Records in Spring 2002. In support of the new record, Kasey and her band is playing concerts and touring. (We can talk Kasey into playing solo for those of you who still favor "just a girl with a guitar").
The alchemy proved magical when Kasey took her new songs to world-class producer Jason Burkum. The result is collection of passionate, relevant songs you will love and relate to for years ahead. Her clear voice combined with dreamy/edgy guitars and laid-back rhythm creates a vibey/alt-country/rock sound that is pop music today.
